PENGARUH USIA DAN KEINGINAN SOSIAL TERHADAP KINERJA KARYAWAN INDUSTRI MANUFAKTUR DI SEMARANG

ABSTRACTS

The objective of this research is to know the influence of age and social demand of the employees. The importance of this research is determining the wisdom related with performance. The hypothesis of this research is presumed that each independent age variable and social demand have positive influence toward performance. Age has positive influence toward social demand, social demand is transcending variable between age and performance, both age and social demand have positive influence toward performance.
This research employs survey method done toward the employees of manufacture industries at Semarang. Data sources are premier data and secondary data. The technique of collecting the data is using purposive technique sampling of 120 respondents. The technique of data analysis is using double linear of regressive analysis, t test and F test.
The result of the analysis is a regressive a equation: Y = 10,338 + 2,776 X1 + 0,285 X2 + e. T test of employee’s age is tcount (4,329) > ttable (2,00), meaning that there is a positive and significant influence of age toward performance. T test of employee’s social demand is tcuont (4,025) > ttable (2,00), meaning that there is positive and significant influence of social demand toward performance. T test of age toward social demand is tcount (3,198) > ttable (2,00), meaning that there positive and significant influence of age toward social demand. From the regressive analysis, β value between age toward employee’s performance is 0,547 compared with β value after intervening variable (0,396 x 0,347) = 0,137, totally the influence of age toward performance is 0,547 + 0,137 = 0,684 thus β is raising up to 0,684. In other words, the variable of social demand is intervening variable. The result of F test is that 14,115 is bigger than F table 3,15 (14,115 > 3,15), meaning that there positive and significant influence of age and social demand toward performance.
